Costa Rica: Dehydrated pineapples exported to Italy and Israel

Fruta Sana is a company based in La Alegria de Siquirres, Costa Rica, specializing in the processing and dehydration of pineapples for export.

Fruta Sana was established in November 2016, mainly exporting dehydrated pineapples to Italy and Israel, including block and sliced dehydrated pineapples. Damaris Fallas, managing director of Fruta Sana, said their goal is to increase exports in order to reach two containers by the end of the year.

Fallas said they source pineapples from growers in San Carlos, Costa Rica, Uppra and the Caribbean. When the pineapples arrive, they are cleaned, cut, sliced, cored, dehydrated and stored in the freezer, all without additives.
The company's future plan is to create a brand to develop other export markets.
