Crispy Green's freeze-dried banana chip snack products and regular banana chips are that they are freeze-dried, not fried. Our entire product line is lyophilized, said Angela Liu, head of Crispy Green.
The snack can be found in the US, Canada, and in limited quantities in South America. It can be sold on supermarket shelves as an alternative to fresh fruit. "At the same time, it has a long shelf life, which is a characteristic of products dried in this way," she said.
Looking ahead to 2017, Crispy Green is developing another freeze-dried product, but it's not a fruit. "The product could be launched at the end of the year or next year," Angela said.
