According to a report from the Agrodata portal, during the first quarter of 2022, Peru exported 8,908,367 kilos of Tahiti lemon for a FOB value of 9,390,500 dollars. These figures mark a notable increase of 52% in volume compared to the 5,824,043 kilos exported in the same period of 2021, which rises to 71% when comparing the value with the 5,463,837 dollars reached in the first quarter of last year.
The main destination of this Peruvian citrus between January and March of this year was the United States, where placements were achieved for 4,240,385 dollars (45% of total national shipments). The following were Chile with 2,017,553 dollars, the United Kingdom with 1,001,706 dollars, the Netherlands with 960,672 dollars, Panama with 569,434 dollars, and the Dominican Republic with 221,784 and others with smaller amounts that together totaled 378,966 dollars.
